BiographyHistory

Thompson spent her childhood in Auckland, her youth in Jazz Age Sydney and her young womanhood in London and Perth before returning to take up residency in inner Sydney. She was married to the poet John Thompson. She describes herself in Accidental Chords as "having lived in the shadow of my mother for twenty-five years and the shadow of my husband for another thirty" (p.250-51).
