BiographyHistory

Morton studied engineering before migrating to Australia. He began his long pastoral career in the Western District of Victoria and except for a brief period as first editor of The Yeoman he was connected with pastoral matters for most of his working life. He was also noted as an explorer, who travelled the unsettled parts of New South Wales and Queensland. He retired to South Yarra and spent his last years in South Australia.
