Don Edwards was born in Sydney and took an Arts degree at the University of Sydney, then worked for the Department of Education, later becoming a journalist and travelling extensively in Australia and Asia. He began writing poetry, then moved to prose, and in the 1950s was writing literary critiques for the Sydney Morning Herald. Edwards's short stories have appeared in a collection High Hill at Midnight (1944), and his novel, The Woman at Jingera, appeared in 1948. Edwards has won prizes for his short fiction.
