Jennifer Kremmer grew up in Sydney and studied at Newcastle University and the University of Technology Sydney. In 1998 she won the Australian/Vogel Award with her novel Pegasus in the Suburbs (1999). This novel, set in the socio-cultural landscape of Australia in the late 1990s, takes the reader into the world of Maree Sterry and her dysfunctional household. In an attempt to wean Maree off an eating disorder, her parents offer to buy her a horse. The third-person narrative is insightful and written with wit.
Kremmer has had short stories and poems published in literary journals and anthologies. She plans to write a novel about presentation aesthetics, body image and waste.
