A full-time writer since 1995, Kerri Lane was first published when Pan Macmillan decided to include her short story, 'No Replacements, No Guarantees', in the anthology of romance fiction, Summer of Love (1994). From Pan Macmillan's decision to 'leave a space open' for an 'unknown' writer, Lane has gone on to forge a sustained writing career. Writing primarily for a readership of children and young adults, she has published more than twenty books which include primary school readers as well as having contributed a number of titles to the ongoing adolescent series, Trend Fiction.
For eight years Lane was a creative writing tutor for Charles Sturt University's Enrichment Studies Programme and has also tutored subjects via correspondence in the fields of creative writing and professional romance writing for the Australian College of Journalism (Artarmon, New South Wales).
Spending three years as the National Vice President of Romance Writers of Australia, Lane was awarded an honorary membership for service to that association. She has also worked as a (non-fiction) ghost-writer, judged writing competitions and in 1999 held the position of writer-in-residence at Lake Macquarie High School.
Most recently, Lane has published two young adult romance novels under the pseudonym of Kaz Delaney, My Life as a Snow Bunny (2003) and Princesses Don't Sweat (2004).
She has lived at Lake Macquarie on the Central Coast of New South Wales.
