BiographyHistory

Syd C. was born in Melbourne, but grew up in Gippsland. She was educated by an aunt, who introduced her to Milton and encouraged her love of poets such as Donne, Byron, Shelley and Coleridge.

Syd C. taught for a few years before her marriage. She continued to write after she married, publishing mainly in The Bulletin and The Australian Woman's Mirror.
