BiographyHistory

With degrees from Downing College, Cambridge, University College, London and Trinity College, Dublin, Geoffrey Thurley came to the University of Adelaide from Trinity College in 1969, teaching there until 1976 when he transferred to the University of Essex (U.K.). He is the author of a number of other works of literary criticism, and has translated works by Russian poets Anna Akhamova and Sergei Esenin and Polish poet Tadeusz Rozewicz.
