BiographyHistory

Lola Irish began her literary career writing short stories, radio scripts and plays, and stage plays before concentrating on writing novels. She wrote both contemporary and historical novels and has twice received a One-Year Fellowship from the Literature Board of Australia. Irish was a member of the Australian Society of Authors from 1964 until her death at St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney, in 2007.
