BiographyHistory

Shirley Tucker completed a BA (Hons) at Deakin University in 1993, writing a thesis on the Chinese-American author, Maxine Hong Kingston. She subsequently moved to Queensland and completed a PhD at the University of Queensland in 1999 on the subject of Asian-Australian women writers. Tucker has lectured at the University of Queensland and (in 2004) continued as a lecturer in the Contemporary Studies Program. In addition to reviews and articles, she was an editor for the Australian Women's Book Review in 2001.
