BiographyHistory

After training as an art teacher, Bronwyn Fackerell worked in the film industry. She married production manager Tom Binns and moved with him to Melbourne, where she met Ian Jones. Ian and Bronwyn's relationship has been called 'one of the great love stories of the Australian film industry' (Neil McDonald). They worked together on the TV series Against the Wind and on the film The Lighthorsemen and created a number of other films. Shortly after the birth of their daughter Elizabeth in 1982, Bronwyn Jones was diagnosed with cancer. She fought the disease for 20 years to bring up their daughter, and died in 2003.
