Tseen Ling Khoo was born in Malaysia and raised in Australia. She was awarded a Master of Arts degree and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Queensland. In 1999 she acted as co-convenor of the inaugural Asian-Australian Identities conference in Canberra and the 'Transforming Cultures/Shifting Boundaries' conference. In 2003 she was awarded a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Queensland.
Dr Khoo has published and served as editor in the areas of Asian-Australian and Asian-Canadian cultural politics, diasporic Asian cultures and gender studies, 'Asian' stereotypes, and critically locating Asian-Australian history. Dr Khoo also created and has served as manager of the 'asian-australian electronic list' and another electronic list 'Banana Pages: Studying Asian Australia'. She has served also as web-manager of the Association for Canadian Studies in Australia and New Zealand.
