Frances Kendall spent her childhood in Australian country towns before moving to Sydney where she graduated from The University of Sydney with a B.A., Dip.Ed. She worked as a children's counsellor travelling long distances across southern New South Wales to make appraisals and hold counselling sessions.
Following the sudden death of her husband in 1990, Kendall managed their property for a year before selling it.
