Playwright Abe Pogos graduated from the Victorian College of Arts School of Drama in 1984. He has received three fellowships from the Literature Board of the Australia Council and has been a writer-in-residence with the Melbourne Theatre Company. Pogos has written screenplays for Australian television, including for the series Always Greener, Marshall Law, Something in the Air and Blue Heelers. He wrote the play 'Compo' in 1987, which was made into the AFI Award nominated film Compo, released in 1989.
