1 y separately published work icon Zorba The Buddha Katerina Cosgrove , Strawberry Hills : Spineless Wonders , 2020 20457228 2020 single work novella 'The year is 1986, Guru Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh has been exiled from the United States after the highly scandalous failure of his Oregon ashram, Rajneeshpuram. Told from four different perspectives and through various time jumps, Zorba the Buddha documents how this movement fell apart from the inside out. Each character’s experience sheds light on the attractive qualities of the movement’s Master, as well as their individual struggles to follow his commands and align their faith with his teachings. A truly compelling read, Katerina Cosgrove’s novella and reflective essay give insight into the true events that began in Oregon and ended in Crete' (Publication summary)

1 5 y separately published work icon Bone Ash Sky Katerina Cosgrove , South Yarra : Hardie Grant Books , 2013 Z1908504 2013 single work novel 'Could it be possible so much killing took place here? No stench of corpses, no evidence of spilled blood. Mass graves shouldn't be this beautiful. On this serene, cloud-curdled day, the atrocities seem a fabrication, tales told to frighten children.

ANOUSH PAKRADOUNIAN steps onto the tarmac and feels Levantine heat on her cheeks like a caress. She hasn't been back to Beirut since she was sixteen. Now, at twenty-nine, she thinks she knows where she's going. She thinks she knows who is right and who is wrong. Yet nothing about her family's past, the history of her ancestors or her childhood in this city is black and white. There's her father, killer and killed. He shot children, babies. He terrorised women in Palestinian camps. When he died chained to a wall, he still thought himself a hero. Her Armenian grandmother. Survivor of genocide. Raped, robbed, left for dead. Sold to a Turk in the desert when she was fifteen. Her grandfather, a militiaman famous for his hatred of Muslims. And in dreams, in the space between words - bone, ash, sky - stories of a lake witness to atrocity, to a loss she can't yet explain.' (Source: Author's website)

'THE GLASS HEART is a rich, powerful and erotic story, pieced together from fragments of failing memory and seen through the eyes of a young Greek-Australian narrator, travelling in the land of the past. Exquisitely written, THE GLASS HEART explores the burden of family and the binds of love through the relationship between the narrator's grandmother and a man whose failure to satisfy her on her wedding night set the tone for the years to come. Although ostensibly about the jealousies and regrets that colour the narrator's family history, THE GLASS HEART reveals almost as much about the narrator herself. In doing so, it shows how our characters are shaped and coloured by the stories of our ancestors whether we like it or not. ' (Publication summary)
