BiographyHistory

Antanas Birskys was born in Telsiai and came to Australia as a displaced person. After his contract expired he worked at various jobs including the General Motors Holden assembly line. He then ran small businesses including a real estate agency. He married an Australian, Betty Birskys, who has written several works on the theme of Lithuanians in Australia. Birskys' writing has won prizes and has been published in leading Australian magazines.
