Felicity Biggins began her journalism career in the 1970s, on the Newcastle Morning Herald. After completing both her cadetship and an a BA (Hons) with a major in drama from the University of Newcastle, she moved to the UK, where she gained an MA in Theatre Studies from the University in Leeds. Returning to Australia in 1986, she began working in radio. In the later 1990s, she left radio to take up a position as lecturer in Communication at the University of Newcastle. In 2018, she was also completing a PhD at the University of Canberra, while continuing to lecture at Newcastle.
With her husband, Carl Caulfield, she runs Stray Dogs, a small theatre company.
