BiographyHistory

After growing up in Ballarat and Canberra, performance poet Ken Smeaton moved to Melbourne and became involved in the poetry scene there in the early 1970s. As well as writing, Smeaton was a poetry advocate and coordinated and supported poetry events and performances. His other activities have included being a member of the Poets Union and producing Writers Radio on Community Radio 3CR. In 1997 he conceived and designed Beautiful Young Poets : Litfest to Litfest Calendar, published in a limited edition for the annual Boroondara Literary Festival (of which he has been one of the organisers).
