Wendy Lowenstein worked as a journalist, youth worker, factory worker, teacher-librarian, editor and author. In addition to her poetry she wrote books on folklore, oral history and popular memory including Weevils in the Flour : An Oral Record of the 30s Depression in Australia (Hyland House, 1978). Lowenstein is the mother of Richard Lowenstein (q.v.)
