BiographyHistory

Elizabeth Louise Hall-Downs holds a Bachelor of Arts in Professional Writing from Deakin University and a Masters Degree in Creative Writing from the University of Queensland.

She works as an editor, community artist, freelance writer, reviewer and performance poet, and has contributed to several Australian literary magazines, poetry anthologies and online journals. In addition to poetry, Hall-Downs writes short stories and essays.

She is one half of the music/poetry duo Fit of Passion, and has been singing and reading her poetry across Australia since the early 1980s. She has performed often with other poetry and music groups, and in 1994, toured the United States with 'Ozpoets'.

In 1996, she was living in Brisbane, Queensland. She is the grand-niece of Charles Daley (q.v.).
