BiographyHistory

Anne Spencer Parry gained a B.A. from the University of New South Wales and became a psychotherapist in private practice in Sydney. From 1975, Anne Parry was a partner with Marjorie Pizer in Pinchgut Press, which published her novels in the fantasy series The Land Behind the World. She also collaborated with Pizer in Below the Surface: Reflections of Life and Living, published by the Press in 1982. She died of cancer in 1985. The MUP Encyclopaedia of Australian Science Fiction and Fantasy (1998): 139 describes Parry as 'one of Australia's pioneers in heroic fantasy for young adults.'
