BiographyHistory

Jorie Manefield grew up at Oatley in Sydney. She graduated from the University of New England and later gained a Master of Arts in Creative Writing from Macquarie University. Manefield lived in the country for twenty-five years where she taught, wrote, and traded cattle, before moving back to Sydney in 1990.

Manefield has a particular interest in environmental conservation and Benedictine spirituality.
