BiographyHistory

Glyn Parry was born in the north-east of England. He arrived in Australia at the age of twelve and has lived in Western Australia ever since. He gained a B.A. majoring in English in 1983; a Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary) in 1984; a Master of Arts by research (2000) and a PHD in 2006. He was a teacher with the Western Australian Education Department in 1984-1996 and 2005-2007. His ministerial appointments include: Youth Panel, Australia Council (2000-2001); Library Board of Western Australia (2001-2004); the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's Advisory Council (2002-2005) and the Literature Board, Australia Council (2003-2007). Parry moved to Geraldton, Western Australia in 2005. Parry also wrote non-fiction works for children.
