Karen Knight started writing poetry at the age of fifteen. In the 1970s she moved to Victoria where she was motivated by the events and characters she encountered there. She has frequently read her work in public forums. She has also worked for the Australian Red Cross. Karen lives in Hobart, Tasmania, with her husband Jules, a percussionist, and her menagerie of rescued animals. She has a daughter, Celeste. Her father was
