BiographyHistory

Sophie Black worked in the diverse roles of writer, journalist, and editor of Crikey (an online news service that focuses on media and political commentary), ending her role with the company as Editor in Chief, overseeing not only Crikey, but also Women's Agenda, Daily Review, and SmartCompany [sic]. In 2018, she was Head of Publishing at the Wheeler Centre, Melbourne. She has also been a panellist on ABC TV's Screen Time.

Black has sat on the advisory board for Melbourne University’s Centre for Advancing Journalism and the human rights publication Right Now.
