BiographyHistory

Thomas Woodward Hill arrived in Sydney in 1839 and worked as a printer on several newspapers including the Colonist, the Free Press, the Sydney Morning Herald and the Empire. In the mid-1850s, Hill moved to Brisbane and took up work at the Courier and later, also, with the Queenslander.

Hill retired from the position of printer and publisher at the Courier in 1891 although he retained a connection with the newspaper until his death the following year.
