Leonora Polkinghorne was an earlier 20th century South Australian feminist and author. As 'Cecil Warren' she wrote several novels in partnership with Sydney Partrige (not all of which were published), including 'The Education of Clothilde', which was serialised by the Leader and the Western Mail in 1906-1907. She married Oswald Polkinghorne at Woodford in December 1910, and they subsequently had five children. She died on the liner Oronsay whilst travelling to Denmark to attend the 1953 Women's World Congress. A number of her unpublished manuscripts are held at the State Library of South Australia. She was the sister of Frances Twiss and mother of Barbara Polkinghorne.
