BiographyHistory

'The Bathurst Times was established on 17 March 1858 by Edward George Wilton and W. Wheeler. Much of the type for the business arrived in Bathurst only two days before the first issue was to appear. Unusual amongst colonial journals of the time, the Times supported Liberal Conservative politics (Maitland Mercury 1858).'
