BiographyHistory

Havilland Durand was a graduate of Durham University. In the years before World War I he came to Australia, where he initially worked as school teacher at the Brisbane Grammar School. On the outbreak of war he enlisted in the 13th Battalion AIF. He was killed at Gallipoli on 27 April, 1915.
