BiographyHistory

During her first 22 years in Australia (1946-1968) Alexandra Seddon studied Indian Philosophy at the University of Melbourne. She returned to England, but by 1970 she was living in Geneva, and from 1974 to 1976 she worked with Papua New Guinean teachers in Port Moresby. By 1981 she had returned to Australia. She set up a reserve in Pambula to preserve the local flying fox colony and, as a member of WIRES (New South Wales Wildlife Information Rescue and Education Service Inc.), she cared for sick and injured bats at her home. Her poetry has been published in many of Australia's major literary journals.
