BiographyHistory

This author appears to have been Mrs Maude Jacob, of 'Ingera', Homebush Rd, Homebush. She was a daughter of Morris Birkbeck Pell, who was the first professor of mathematics at the University of Sydney. Her husband, Albert Francis Jacob, was a son of New South Wales MLC Archibald Hamilton Jacob.

During World War I, her son Harry Alan Jacob served in the 1st Australian Light Horse Brigade. He died from injuries following an accident at the Zeitoun military camp, Cairo, in November 1918.
