BiographyHistory

Ying Ge was born in Beijing in the 1950s. He was sent to Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to receive re-education during the Cultural Revolution. After he returned to Beijing five years later, he worked for the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the State Commission for Restructuring the Economic System. He came to Australia as a self-funded student in 1989. In 1997 he published a Chinese-language novel Why Go Abroad - A Report from the Other Side of the Ocean.
