BiographyHistory

Ghungalu elder Marie Kemp is a poet, teacher, social worker and author. She was born in Woorabinda, an Aboriginal community inland from Rockhampton, Central Queensland, but, grew up with her three sisters in the towns of Blackwater, Capella, Clermont and Springsure. Marie had completed her teacher's degree at Preston TAFE, Victoria, and taught at the Bairnsdale Primary school in Bairnsdale, Victoria.
