Jill Eddington was the director of the Byron Bay Writers Festival (1999-2006) and the Northern Rivers Writer's Centre before being appointed in December 2012 as Director of Literature of the Australia Council for the Arts. She held this position until 2017, when she was appointed CEO of the University of Queensland Press. After leaving UQP in 2018, she has worked as a consultant to arts organisations, not-for-profit companies, and government.
