Alan Horsfield has been a teacher, studied Children's Literature at Macquarie University and worked as a Development Officer for the New South Wales Children's Council. He is a past President of the NSW Children's Book Council and was also a judge for the New South Wales Premier's Literary (Children's) Awards.
Horsfield has worked at the University of New South Wales as an English Research Officer creating literacy tests and competitions for schools. He has retired to Fiji and has written stories with a Pacific Island setting.
