BiographyHistory

Sue Kucharova left her native Czechoslovakia in 1969 for England. After arriving in Australia, she began a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology at Macquarie University, graduating in 1977. Kucharova has worked in community programmes and her work has been read on radio and at writers' conferences. Her work has been anthologised and has appeared in literary journals.

The Bibliography of Australian Multicultural Writers discusses Kucharova's writing philosophy: 'She has described her writing as a tool for coming to terms with her own ethnicity and has a strong commitment to the ideals of feminism and non-tokenistic multiculturalism'. Kucharova earned a Masters Degree in creative writing at the University of Western Sydney in 1999.
