'Hydra Poesis is a Perth based performance company established in 2006 by director Sam Fox. Working between live art, theatre, dance, installation and film, Hydra Poesis make work that is hybrid, collaborative and critical. The company is committed to primary research and compelled to engage with the double binds and conflicts they are implicated by or caught up in.
Hydra Poesis has been recognised as a strong contributing presence to the development of interdisciplinary performance in Western Australia and has been a permanent resident company of CIA studios since January 2007. The company has been funded/supported by the Myer Foundation, CIA Studios, the Theatre and Dance Boards of the Australia Council for the Arts, the Department of Culture and the Arts Arts Development and Young People and the Arts panels, the Myer Foundation, Perth Institute for Contemporary Art, ARTRAGE, Fox Associates, Petch Bricklayers, Healthway and the City of Perth.'
