Meg Vann has been the Chief Executive Officer of the Queensland Writers' Centre (QWC). She formerly led The Australian Writer's Marketplace unit at QWC, and comes from a community development background in both the arts and legal sectors, having worked for several years as a community legal worker with Women's Legal Service and Legal Aid (Qld). Vann was a radio producer/presenter with ABC radio, and was Station Coordinator of 4ZzZ-fm.
Vann studied Writing, Editing and Publishing at The University of Queensland, and is an emerging crime and thriller writer who leads the Queensland chapter of Sisters in Crime. She regularly presents workshops on writing and publishing. Her work has been awarded development support through CAL, QWC/Hachette Australia, and Varuna Writers Centre.
Meg is a Lecturer in Creative Writing at The University of Queensland, and a publisher at Corella Press. She worked on the Genre Worlds : Australian Popular Fiction in the Twenty-First Century project, and in 2018 won the Dr Melanie McKenzie Teaching Award.
