BiographyHistory

Born and educated in Melbourne, Earl Livings has worked as a writer-in-residence, taught English at tertiary level and lectured in creative writing at Box Hill Institute. A former Chair of Melbourne Poets, Livings has edited numerous anthologies of poetry, been editor of bystander magazine and more recently held the editorial position at 'Australia's first all-Australian on-line poetry journal', Divan.

Writing poetry, fiction and non-fiction, Livings's work has been published in various anthologies and appeared in literary journals such as ars poetica, Tamba and Divan. He has read his work on national and community radio and performed his poetry at a number of public venues. Livings has published two selections of poetry, Further Than Night (2000) and Bird Before Landing (2002).
