BiographyHistory

Bede Tongs fought at Kokoda, Papua New Guinea, and in the Aitape-Wewak campain with the 3rd Infantry Battalion, Australian Military Force, and then the 2/3rd Infantry Imperial Battalion, Australian Imperial Force, in World War II.

Bede Tongs worked as a volunteer at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, and promoted the Kokoda Track Foundation, an Australian philanthropic organisation.
