Ben Stubbs grew up in Cooma, New South Wales and graduated with a degree in Media/Communications from the University of Canberra. He has worked as a freelance writer, particularly in the field of travel writing, and has been a tutor in creative writing at the University of Canberra and RMIT, Melbourne. Stubbs describes his first book, Ticket to Paradise (2012), as 'creative non-fiction'.
