Television script-writer.
Meg Mappin began working in television in the late 1990s. Prior to this, she completed two play scripts: Double Storeys was presented as a play reading at La Mama, Melbourne, and Mappin presented a reading of I Started Stealing Biscuits (by invitation) at the Second International Conference of Women Playwrights (Toronto, Canada). No publication of the play scripts has been traced.
In 1999 and 2000, Mappin worked as script editor for police drama Blue Heelers. She also worked as a storyliner for long-running soap opera Neighbours, before moving to rival soap opera Home and Away, where she was a regular script-editor between 2002 and 2004. In 2004, she wrote for both McLeod's Daughters and Stingers; for the latter, she was also script editor.
Mappin has written for a wide range of children's television programs, including Driven Crazy, Pig's Breakfast, Li'l Horrors, The Sleepover Club, Pirate Islands, Silversun, and Parallax.
