Before working in television, Johanna Pigott had formed part of indie-punk band XL Capris, with fellow script-writer Tim Gooding, future Hoodoo Gurus member Kimble Rendall, and Julie Anderson. With husband Todd Hunter of Australian/New Zealand rock bank Dragon, she co-wrote 'Rain' for Dragon and 'Age of Reason' for John Farnham.
Pigott and Gooding collaborated on TV series Sweet and Sour, which followed the fictional band The Takeaways as they tried to break into the Sydney scene in the 1980s.
