BiographyHistory

Barbara Brooks grew up in Queensland and later moved to Sydney. She has been interested in the interaction between the built environment and geology, history and natural history.

Brooks has expressed the belief that our 'relationship with where we live is mediated by our concern with justice, right, livelihood. Mountains and rivers, Mabo and dust storms, cotton farms, uranium mines, freeways and detention centres are all part of the same interdependent relationship ...our relationship with place had been in my heart all the time.'
