Originally from Australia, Sally McLaren has been living in Kyoto since 1997. As a freelance journalist, editor and translator, she has written for a number of publications including The Japan Times, The Independent, The Sydney Morning Herald, Kyoto Journal, Kansai Time Out, Brutus and The Rough Guide to Japan.
