Roger Dard lived in Perth, Western Australia and was an active member of fantasy fandom in Australia and overseas, especially during the 1940s and 1950s. Dard led a successful fight in the early 1950s to force the Australian Customs Service to lift a ban on the importation into Australia of the American science fiction periodical, Weird Tales, q.v.
