Robert Morrison began writing as a teenager and had some poems and short stories published while he was in his twenties. A journalist, Morrison spent several years working overseas before returning to Australia to become a court reporter for the Australian Broadcasting Commission (later the Australian Broadcasting Corporation).
Morrison has published novels for children, young adult and adult audiences, and has written children's readers and information books. He has also written a number of one-act plays, two of which have been performed on stage.
