Michael Gumbuli Wurramara's early life was spent on remote islands in the Gulf of Carpentaria. In his teenage years he moved to Roper River Mission, or Ngukurr. He was to become the first Aboriginal Anglican priest in the Northern Territory.
Michael Gumbuli is the author of God bin meigimbat dijan kantri [God made this world], a work in Kriol published in 1979 by Wycliffe Bible Translators.
