BiographyHistory

John Uhr completed a BA (Hons) at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Queensland, and a MA and PhD from the University of Toronto, Canada. He worked in the Australian Parliament as Parliamentary Fellow, research officer, and secretary to Senate committees. From 1990 he taught at the Australian National University, Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, and was Director of the Parliamentary Studies Centre at the University. His published works include Deliberative Democracy in Australia: The Changing Place of Parliament (1998) and Terms of Trust: Arguments over Ethics in Australian Government (2005).
