BiographyHistory

'Andrea Jenkins is originally from Perth and completed a degree in Performance Studies at Curtin University in 2006. After completing her degree, she worked on a devised show "City of Cake" (The Blue Room) as creator/performer where she fell in love with the devised process.

In 2008 she moved to Melbourne and then began training with the Melbourne arm of Zen Zen Zo Physical Theatre. In 2010 Jenkins was awarded a Zen Zen Zo Physical Theatre Internship and begin the process of forming her own company.

As Artistic Director Andrea Jenkins founded Kurunpa Live Arts in Brisbane in 2010 out of a desire to create new Australian work that links Indigenous and Non-Indigenous artists and explores connection to place. She was awarded funding from Arts Queensland and the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts through the Fresh Ground Initiative to develop "The Rock" in October 2010.'
