BiographyHistory

W. Satterley Willcocks arrived in Brisbane on the ship Young Australia in July 1863. According to the ship's log, which was published in the Courier on 25 July, 1863, he married Mary Circuitt Hebden during the voyage to Australia (the two also appear to have been married by a clergyman soon after arriving in Brisbane in August 1866). Willcocks and his wife appear to have remained in Brisbane until 1877, when they left Queensland. Their Courier marriage notice stated that he was the son of the late Rev. T. Willcocks, of Devonport, England. Further biographical details remain to be established.
